Americans Choose Lee Min Ho & Park Shin Hye Most Popular Korean Actors

Lee Min Ho, Park Shin Hye Voted as Top Korean Actors

"The Heirs' co-stars Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye and are the top South Korean actors of today. This is according to the United States-based fans of the Korean Wave who participated in a survey.

The survey was conducted by the Korea Creative Content Agency, The Strait Times has learned. Around 4,700 fans voted Lee and Park as their favorite South Korean actors.

With Park as the top actress, Gong Hyo Jin, 36, and Lee Ji Eun, who is professionally known as IU, were the runners-up. In 2016, Gong starred in "Jealousy Incarnate" while IU starred in "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo."

Hyo Jin and IU co-starred in "The Producers" in 2015. Their co-stars in the KBS2 sitcom were Kim Soo Hyun and Cha Tae Hyun.

In the male category, Lee Joon Gi, 34, and Lee Jong Suk, 27, were the runners-up. In 2016, Joon Gi co-starred with IU in "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" while Jong Suk starred in "W," "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo" and "First Seven Kisses" and co-starred with Park in "Gogh, The Starry Night."

Jong Suk is set to star in "While You Were Sleeping" opposite Min Ho's girlfriend, K-Pop girl group miss A member Suzy, 22. The story of the upcoming SBS series revolves around a woman (Suzy) who can see unfortunate events in her dreams and Jae Chan (Jong Suk), a prosecutor who tries to prevent her dreams from coming true.

After starring with Park in "The Heirs" in 2013, Min Ho made a TV comeback in 2016 with "The Legend of the Blue Sea." In the SBS series, he played a noble man who was saved by a mermaid (Jun Ji Hyun) from drowning.

Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye have are experiencing some massive success now as reports have just confirmed that they are the most popular K-pop stars in the U.S. The reports came out as more than 4,700 fans were surveyed by the Korea Creative Content Agency.

The results of the survey show Park Shin Hye as the most favorite actress in the U.S. Park Shin Hye is the lead star in the popular TV dramas such as "The Heirs", "Pinocchio" and "Doctors".

According to Straits Times, Kong Hyo Jin and IU followed Park on the list. Meanwhile, Park's partner, Lee Min Ho, has just been proclaimed as the most popular K-pop actor in the U.S. He is followed by Lee Joon Gi and the star of "Pinocchio", Lee Jong Suk.

Lee Min Ho has just proved that he is not only experiencing great success and popularity in South Korea, but in other countries as well, especially in the U.S. With a number of awards tucked under his sleeves, he surely has a long way to go in the entertainment industry.

According to Korea Portal, Lee Min Ho was the most favorite Korean actor in the U.S. This just shows how Americans are slowly accepting Korean dramas and music into their own lifestyles. The Korean  genre is indeed experiencing worldwide recognition, and this is a proof of it.

Reports suggest that the survey had respondents which were aged 10 to 35. With this, one can see how popular Lee Min Ho has become. This is also thanks to the bustling love team that she has with Park Shin Hye.

With all of these being said, South Korea is surely having a lot of success in its American market. Hopefully, this will continue, especially now that K-pop has just lost the Chinese market. Surely, it will still prosper.

Park Shin Hye, Lee Min Ho Top Popularity Polls in US

SEOUL (Korea Herald/Asia News Network) - Park Shin Hye and Lee Min Ho are the South Korean actors most favoured by fans of the Korean Wave in the United States.

Some 4,700 fans surveyed by the state-owned Korea Creative Content Agency picked Park as their favourite actress, her agency Salt Entertainment said on Monday (March 6). She is the star of K-dramas like The Heirs (2013), Pinocchio (2014) and Doctors (2016).

Following Park on the list of actresses were Kong Hyo Jin (The Master's Sun, 2013) and IU (Scarlet Heart, 2016). Lee (Park's Heirs co-star) topped the list of actors, followed by Lee Joon Gi (IU's Scarlet Heart co-star) and Lee Jong Suk (Park's Pinocchio co-star).
